Abstract

A cooke starch is insolubilized by treatment with triethanolamine titanate. The titanate may be added to starch compositions used for coating paper either on or off the machine, or to starch compositions for use as adhesives in making laminates of paper or paperboard. Alternatively, the substrate may be coated with a starch composition containing no insolubilizing agent and the coating subsequently treated with triethanolamine titanate.ALSO:A cooked starch is insolubilized by treatment with triethanolamine titanate.
