Abstract

1,024,526. Pressure-resisting doors. RHONE. POULENC S.A. Feb. 14, 1964 [Feb. 15, 1963], No. 6379/64. Heading F2P. A cover 3 is pivoted on a single or double beam 4 hinged to a cylindrical part 2 and over a discharge pipe 1 maintained in position by a plate 1 maintained in position by a plate 13 having apertures 15 provided with grilles or caps. A nut member 7, having secured thereto a hand wheel 9, carries a lock nut 10 and engages a hinged eyebolt 11. An abutment collar prevents the cover from being thrown off during operation of the hand wheel and release of internal pressure. The cover carries a packing and incorporates a lip 16 to downwardly deflect droplets of liquid sprayed from the tank during release of the cover. In modifications (a) a hinged eye, nut and hand wheel engageable in a fork supported by the double beam 4 replaces the locking assembly shown in the Figure, (b) the hand wheel 9 and lever 10 of the locking nut are replaced by flats and cams for engagement by detachable operating devices, (c) a valve is attached to the cover for connection with the atmosphere and operated before the cover is opened.
