Abstract

1,024,452. Semi-conductor devices. WESTINGHOUSE BRAKE & SIGNAL CO. Ltd. Oct. 29, 1963 [Sept. 5, 1963], No. 33168/64. Divided out of 1,024,451. Heading H1K. A mounting device for electrical components (e.g. semi-conductor devices) comprises a number of blocks of heat conductive material assembled one on top of the other wherein each block has mounted on it an electrical component and is provided with cooling fins extending outwardly therefrom. In the embodiment (Fig. 1) several units 20 in two parts have the parts arranged in parallel vertical columns 21 and 22. An electrical component is mounted in each of several recesses 3 having internal peripheral serrations, and the two parts 23, 25 which engage to form each recess are provided on an external surface with cooling fins 7. The individual units may be constructed as described in Specification 1,024,451.
