1,024,008. Endless conveyers; pallets. ESSICCATOI FAVA S.p.A. Dec. 16, 1964 [Jan. 25, 1964; Aug. 6, 1964], No. 51237/64. Headings B8A and B8H. [Also in Division A4] Platform cars, carrying, e.g., food-stuffs, are stored on guides 17 above a pair of spaced-apart endless chains 1, which are movable in vertical planes around guide profiles 6, and transported by means of carriages secured to the chains 1 and constituted by two parallel transversal shafts 8, Fig. 4 (not shown), carrying two pairs of rollers 7 and 12 at their ends and at the interior of the chains 1, the rollers 7 being adapted to roll on the lower portion 9 of the guide profiles 6. The platform cars 11 are loaded on to the supporting guides 17, which are secured to the guide profiles 6, and on arrival of the first carriage the front pair of rollers 12 pass under inclined planes 29 of small feet 10 secured to the platform car 11 and continue until both pairs of rollers 12 engage inclined planes 27 and 29, lifting the platform car 11 from the guides 17 and transporting it along until it meets abutment 13 or another platform car 11. Then the rollers pass under the tips of the inclined planes 27-30 leaving the car resting on guides 17 at a slight distance from the adjacent car. The cars may be removed by engaging a lift truck fork in slots formed in the feet 10.
