Abstract

1,023,044. Rolling. F. MOELLER and K. NEUMANN, [trading as VERWALTUNGSGESELLSCHAFT MOELLER U. NEUMANN OFFENE HANDELSGESELLSCHAFT]. June 20, 1963 [July 2, 1962], No. 24548/63. Heading B3M. In a rolling mill, in which the chocks of the two horizontal rolls are housed in U-shaped frames 1, the chocks are formed with projections 3a and 4a which co-operate with projections 10a and 1a to allow tilting movement of the chocks. The upper chocks are urged upwardly by spring-loaded rods 14 (Fig. 4, not shown) against caps 10 of the mill, the profiled faces 12 and 13 of the co-operating projections permitting the tilting movement. In the caps 10 are mounted screwed spindles 17 which engage the frames 1 to give roll adjustment. Rotation of each spindle is produced by a gear driven nut 20 engaging a threaded sleeve 18, the nut being rotated by gearing 21, 23, 24 and 25. A breaker block 19 is situated above each spindle 17 for overload purposes.
