Abstract

1,022,555. Hose couplings. AEROQUIP A.G. May 21, 1963 [June 6, 1962], No. 20263/63. Headings F2G and F2P. A tubular body 10 has a nipple 20 and a concentrically related annular projection 30, the latter being thickest at that end thereof connected to the body and having inner and outer annular ribs 36, 44. The end of the hose, comprising a tube 64 of tetrafluoroethylene and a braided wire reinforcement 68, is received in the recess formed between the projection and nipple and a sleeve 56 is radially contracted to force the hose on to the nipple and radially deform the projection inwardly into sealing relation with the hose. The body has an annular rib 52 which co-operates with a groove 60 in the sleeve 56, and the sleeve has a number of ribs 62 of helical form. Deformation of the projection is such that the inner surface thereof does not engage the outer surface of the hose 64.
