An anti-sucking device for cattle comprises a wire 5 slidable in a guide 4 formed by rolling over the edges of a plate 1 having part of its circumference removed at 2, one end 6 of the wire being pointed so that it can be passed through the nose of an animal and secured in place by sliding the wire along the guide so that both ends are located within the guide.
