1,021,655. Screw-and-nut gearing. C. B. STRANDGREN. Jan. 1, 1963, No. 10/63. Heading F2Q. In a screw-and-nut device wherein threaded satellite rollers 6 are interposed between a screw 4 and a nut 5, the thread of the nut 5 is relieved on opposite flanks to avoid contact, as shown at 7, 8, over two zones L 0 extending from opposite ends of the nut. As shown, the zone L 0 extends over half the roller length. The rollers 6 have at each end plain journal portions 12 engaging a rotatable ring 13, and straight gear teeth 9 cut through the screw-threads to engage a fixed ring gear 10.
