Abstract

A form-stabilized foam polyurethane material, suitable for use in the upholstery trade, comprises a skeleton of animal, vegetable, or synthetic random fibres on combinations thereof, coated at least at their cross-over points with a bonding material which is elastic in its dry state, embedded in a foamed polyurethane material. The fibres may be, e.g. rubberized or curled hair or coconut fibres, and the bonding material may be india rubber. During the foaming step the fibrous skeleton is held under tension.ALSO:A form-stabilized foam polyurethane material, suitable for use in the upholstery trade, comprises a skeleton of animal, vegetable, or synthetic random fibres or combinations thereof, coated at least at their cross over points with a bonding material which is elastic in its dry state, embedded in a foamed polyurethane material. The fibres may be e.g. rubberized or curled hair or coconut fibres, and the bonding material may be india rubber. During the foaming step the fibrous skeleton is held under tension.
