Abstract

1,018,380. Root-crop harvesters. A. UNDERHAUG [trading as F. A. UNDERHAUGS FABRIK]. Oct. 22, 1964 [Nov. 5, 1963], No. 43185/64. Heading A1F. A tractor-mounted potato-harvester comprises a share 2, and a spinner 3 cooperating with the share to throw excavated crop on to a transverse conveyer 4, the share, spinner and conveyer all being mounted on a frame 5 carried at the front of a tractor 1. The transverse conveyer delivers crop to a lateral conveyer 13, flanked by a platform 29 for operators who remove trash, the lateral conveyer, in turn, delivering to a transverse conveyer 14, also flanked by operators' platforms 30. Operators transfer the potatoes to a second transverse conveyer which delivers to a crate 28 resting on a yoke 21. The yoke and rear transverse conveyers are carried by a frame 20 mounted on hitch-links 18, 19. The power take-off drives the spinner 2 and forward conveyer 4 by a shaft 8 and the rear conveyers by a shaft 16. The lateral conveyer is carried by a cradle 23, 24 allowing it to accommodate to relative movements of the frames 5, 20.
