1,018,009. Wet treatment of moisture permeable materials. H. HEISSNER, H. HEISSNER and G. HEISSNER [trading as FIRMA ESTABLISHMENT for AUTOMATION]. Jan.14, 1964 [Jan.14, 1963], No.1605/64. Heading D1L. Apparatus for wet treating moisture permeable material 7 comprises at least one rotatable sieve drum 1, conveying means such as a perforated belt 8 surrounding the portion of the drum which lies beneath the surface of the treatment liquid and means for producing a number of flow paths through the material into and out of the or each sieve drum. As shown the sieve drum is divided into compartments 2 and pumps are provided e.g. in the wall between adjacent compartments to cause liquid to flow into and out of alternate compartments. Alternatively an eccentrically mounted rotating drum can be positioned inside the sieve drum to cause the alternating liquid currents. A series of rollers may be provided to urge the belt 8 towards the drum 1. Other material pressing means may be provided inside or outside the bath. The belt 8 may be vibrated. In a further form belt 8 is replaced by a series of driven drums which may be driven. Baffles may be provided between the drums of the series to prevent the material passing therebetween.
