Abstract

[Also in Division F4] In applying an outer coating in the form of a solution to a fire extinguishing hose a hose of woven fabric 1 is led from a rotatable drum 2 around guide rollers 3 and 4. The interior of the hose is filled with a charge 5 of water or other medium and heat is applied by a device 6. The distended and preheated hose then proceeds upwards through a container 7-containing: coating solution 7<SP>1 </SP>which is to be applied to the outer surface of the hose. After emerging from container 7 drying of the solution begins and takes place from the inside of the outside due to the temperature drop between the hose and the surroundings. After a dirt drying in free space in additional drying can be imposed by a heating and/or ventilating device 8. The hose then proceeds via winch 9 and tensioning pulley 10 to a receiving drum 12.
