Abstract

1,017,480. Ice cream &c. P. H. CARTER, T. E. MARION and R. L. MORSE. April 1, 1964, No. 13496/64. Heading A2B. An edible coating material, being in a liquefied state and at a temperature above its hardening point, is deposited, for example, by spraying, on to the interior surface of the walls of a porous pastry receptacle, such as a cone, and, before the coating material has been completely absorbed by the receptacle, a fluid frozen dessert, especially ice cream, at a temperature below the hardening point of the coating, is introduced into the receptacle in direct contact with the coating, thereby hardening the material. The coating may be for example caramel, butterscotch, and especially chocolate. Other ingredients may include various syrups, crushed nuts, or shredded coconut. A lid for example of chocolate may be applied to the product. In a modification, the coating is applied to an impervious paper or like receptacle, so that a coated ice cream is obtained.
