Abstract
Hair is dyed with monoazo dyes of the formula <FORM:1014720/D1-D2/1> or their water-soluble salts, in which X is an amino- or hydroxy-naphthalene residue or an hydroxy-phenylene or diphenylamine residue. The said salts may be the alkali metal, ammonium or mono- or dilalkanolamine (alkanol residue 1-3 C) salts. The dyes may be applied together with other, especially anthraquinone, hair dyes. The dyes may be applied together with amionic or non-ionic washing agents especially as emulsion creams which may also contain thickeners, perfumes and conditioners. The dye compositions preferably have a pH of 8.5-9.5. Examples are given.
