Abstract

1,013,552. Envelopes. LAMSON PARAGON Ltd. Jan. 23, 1964 [May 8, 1963], No. 2956/64. Heading B6A. A continuous assembly 10 of envelopes for passage through a typewriter or the like comprises a flexible web carrier 15 with dots a . . . h of adhesive by which the inside of each sealing flap 21 and the back panel of each envelope are detachably secured to the web, so as to form a continuous series of envelopes. Each flap 21 underlies the back of the preceding envelope. The web 15 has edge perforations 17 for engagement by a pin-wheel feed and is folded zig-zag fashion along lines 35 coincident with the folding lines of alternate flaps 21. The flap 21 may be of such a width that when the envelope is sealed after separation from the web, it covers both the spots a and the spots b where the envelope was attached to the web. Further the bottom flap of the envelope may extend nearly up to the fold line of the sealing flap so that any adhesive from the spots a which adheres to the sealing flap does not make contact with the envelope contents when the envelope is sealed.
