A stop-arm 7 of Z-shape to limit the horizonlly sliding movement of a vehicle windows and having upper arm 9, intermediate arm 13 and lower arm 17, is pivoted to a projecting stand 18 on a crank disc 19, the upper arm 9 projecting upwardly into the horizontal window guide 5 and a spring 11 biasing the stop arm downwardly. Rotation of the disc in an anti-clockwise direction by a knob at the back from the lower dead centre position (chain lines slides the arm 9 upwards through the top dead centre and beyond until stopped by a projection 27 on the disc interlocking with the arm.
