Abstract

A tape of rubber threads separably stuck together along the length thereof is made by extruding a rubber latex into a coagulant to form threads, contacting said threads in advance of final curing with an anti-tack agent in a liquid medium, urging said threads into contact with each other while the threads are at least partly covered by said liquid containing said anti-tack agent, and drying and curing the formed tape. The process ensures that the individual threads adhere to each other by rubber-rubber bonds. The anti-tack agent may be talc or sodium hypochlorite and may in addition contain a wetting agent.
