Abstract

1,011,939. Building panels; roof lights. BRITISH INDUSTRIAL PLASTICS Ltd. Aug. 25, 1964 [Sept. 3, 1963], No. 34748/63. Headings E1B and E1J. A rectangular, triangular or other panel comprises two opaque or translucent sheets 1, 2 (e.g. of glass fibre reinforced synthetic resin) secured to a lattice frame 3 formed of rectangular tubes riveted or bolted together by means of lugs 18 bent from the ends of the tube wall. As shown the frame 3 has longitudinal members 10 and staggered cross-members 11 and is secured in a rectangular frame 4 whose mitred corners 6 are secured by filling with an epoxy resin and by angles 7. In a modification each tube of a hexagonal lattice has only one lug 18 at each end. A roof dome light may be formed by six or eight triangular panels.
