Abstract
1,011,379. Gun mountings. BREVETS AERO-MECANIQUES S.A. July 7, 1964 [July 22, 1963], No. 27971/64. Heading F3C. A field mount for a gun comprises two sear legs 2 intended to bear on the ground preferably through spades 4 and which are hinged about axes ZZ and XX permitting the legs to be moved towards and away from one another for transportation and firing respectively and permitting the legs to be displaced in height independently of each other to adapt the mount to uneven ground. The axes ZZ and XX intersect at or adjacent the centre of a Cardan device supporting the gun 1. Each leg 2 is pivotable about a stub axle 6 and may be locked in a plurality of angular positions by a device 8. The stub axles 6 are secured to the sides of two arc-shaped elements which are pivotable about the axis ZZ and form the outer frame of the Cardan device. The mount preferably has detachable wheels 5 and the halfshafts 6 each pivotally carry a front leg portion having a spade at its end which portions when in the ground-engaging and firing position form a V-shaped front leg.
