Abstract

In a water softening plant in which the brining operation of regeneration is conducted by drawing raw supply water from the brining tank, a slide valve which controls the flow of water through the plant has a body with ports and a slide member which moves between softening and regeneration so that in the softening position the inductor is isolated from the raw water port and in the regeneration position permits flow from this port to the inductor and from the inductor to a port connected to the softened water outlet of the vessel containing the exchange material.
