Abstract

1,010,701. Photographic cameras. PENTACON DRESDEN KAMERA-UND KINOWERKE. VEB Nov. 16, 1961, No. 41043/61. Heading G2A. A photographic camera having a between-thelens shutter, an electric motor for shutter cocking and film winding, and a release mechanism, has a mechanism limiting movement of the shutter cocking and film winding gear after a predetermined length of film has been wound, an electric switch to close the motor circuit at the end of the exposure, and a second electric switch to close the motor circuit after commencement of shutter cocking and film winding, the locking mechanism being engageable by the release mechanism so as to be released on actuation of the release mechanism, the disengagement of the release mechanism being effected by the shutter cocking and film winding gear. As shown, assuming the shutter is cocked, the release button 58 is depressed and, through rod 59 and levers 61, 63, pawl 71 is pivoted to free the shutter operating ring 74 which rotates counterclockwise to open and close the shutter and finally a projection 73 closes the circuit of motor 2 by means of a switch 81. Rod 77, 80 is, at the same, pivoted to unlock a disc 41. The motor 2 then causes gears 5, 9, 8, 19, 20, 21, 24, 25, 32, and 40 to rotate. Gear 21 drives the take-up spool 3, gear 32 drives a rack 36 to the left, as shown, and gear 40 drives the film winding mechanism. A sleeve 82 rotates with the gear 40 and pivots a rod out of a recess in itself to close a second switch in the circuit of motor 2 for one rotation of the gear 40. Asthe rack 36 moves a projection 38 thereon engages the projection 37 on the shutter ring and the ring is rotated clockwise until locked in its cocked position by the pawl 71, a projection 39 on the rack having engaged rod 70 and pivoted lever 63 out of its position blocking the pawl 71. After the film has been wound on hook 80 engages the locking recess in disc 41, a pawl 28 strikes a projection 33 and disengages wheel 32 from drive wheel 25 and the rack is returned to its original position by a spring 37, and the rod again engages the recess in sleeve 82 and breaks the motor circuit. At the end of each rotation of the wheel 40 a pin 90 thereon moves a ratchet 100 and wheel 95 on step and hence a picture counter 97, counter 97 can be set by manually depressing knob 104 and rotating it.
