Abstract

1,009,947. Shovels. B.P. BENZIN UND PETROLEUM A.G. Oct. 3, 1963 [Nov. 21, 1962], No. 38941/63. Heading AlB. A shovel comprises a blade 1 provided with strengthening ridges 1b, 1c and having its side edges 1alpha bent upwardly, a plate 2 being secured, e.g. by riveting or weld ing, to the blade and carrying a handle socket 2alpha. The rear edge 1d of the blade is serrated and the socket 2alpha strengthened by a rib 3alpha. The shovel blade and handle 3 are of steel and a hand grip 4 and sliding sleeve 5 of plastics material are provided.
