Abstract

1,009,541. Tunnel diode oscillator circuit. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. Aug. 21, 1962 [Aug. 30, 1961], No. 31999/62. Heading H3T. To compensate for the variation of output power with frequency in a variable frequency tunnel diode oscillator circuit the load G L is capacitively coupled by capacitor C L to the inner conductor of a coaxial line quarter - wave resonator tuned by a capacitor C A , the tunnel diode TD being connected between the inner and outer conductors of the resonator and the arrangement being such that the impedance of the series circuit C L -G L decreases with increase of frequency whilst the impedance of the quarterwave circuit increase with increase in frequency. Capacitor C K1 , the dielectric of which is formed by the insulation between the inner and outer conductors acts as a short circuit at the resonance frequency and capacitor C K2 by-passes any low-frequency oscillations superimposed on the D.C. supply across terminals a, b.
