Abstract

100,935. Gibbs, G. C. July 28, 1915. Sights. - Relates to backsights of the kind comprising a vertically adjustable standard sliding on a pillar mounted at the side of the gun, and supporting an horizontally adjustable peep-hole or lens sight. The invention consists in the combination of a pillar b formed with an aperture b<1> to take the place of the usual long-range aperture, a hollow standard a adapted to slide on the pillar b, an elevating-screw d engaging an interior thread in the pillar b and operated by a milled head c, a set-screw e for locking the standard in its adjusted position, a cross-arm k, a sight block sliding on the arm, and a screw and milled head l for adjusting the block laterally.
