Abstract

1,008,599. Food packages; carton blanks. O. KAVLI A/S. Feb. 21, 1964, No. 7403/64. Headings B8C and B8P. Cream cheese is poured while hot into a mould lined with a sheet of metal foil and capped with a second sheet of metal foil, the package thus formed being inserted into an outer cardboard container the inner walls of which are covered with a heat-activatable adhesive which becomes bonded to the metal foil due to the heat of the cheese. A cover is then applied to the container. Carton blank.-A cardboard blank as shown in Fig. 1 is covered on one side with the heatactivatable adhesive and folded to form the body of the container. Flaps 17-20 are folded vertically about their respective fold lines to form side walls upstanding from the base panel 10. Flaps 17f and 17g fold flat on to the base panel, the lines 11, 13 being cut. End flaps 19c and 19b lie against flaps 17e and 17d respectively where they are overlapped by the walls 18 and 20, the flaps 18c and 20c being folded flat on the base panel 10. Due to the heat of the contents, the walls 18, 20 become bonded to the flaps which they overlap and the flaps 17f, 17g, 18c and 20c are bonded to the base panel 10.
