Abstract

The thermally insulat ing casing for an electric water heater comprises an outer skin 6 surrounding a tank or cylinder 5 in spaced relationship there with and a thermally in sulating plastics material 7 filling the space between the tank 5 and the outer skin 6. The outer skin 6 is formed from a suitable plastics material resistant to normal usage and of a decorative design and the tank 5 may be made of metal or plastics. In a modification the therm ally insulating material 7 is in the form of a plastics foam that bonds the tank and the outer skin together.
