Abstract

1,006,861. Waveguide joints. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Jan. 4, 1962 [Jan. 6, 1961; Sept. 5, 1961], Nos. 681/61 and 31876/61. Heading H1W. A non-rigid joint between two sections of rectangular waveguide comprises mating surfaces on the end-portions of the sections; the sections are connected together, and the mating surfaces remain in engagement with each other when the sections are relatively inclined. The mating surfaces may comprise cylindrical surfaces 4 (Fig. 1 of 681/61) held together by springs (not shown), or plates 7<SP>1</SP>, 10 (Fig. 1 of 31876/61) held together by pegs through the holes 12, 12<SP>1</SP>. Shims 14, 15 may be mounted inside the waveguides to preserve a smooth internal profile.
