Abstract

A nitrogenous polycondensate of an aliphatic, aromatic, cycloaliphatic or heterocyclic di-secondary amine containing from 4 to 20 carbon atoms, or a polyamine containing two primary amino groups bound to tertiary carbon atoms, with epichclohydrin and a mono- or di-halo derivative of an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon containing 8 to 20 carbon atoms. The Specification also discloses a spinning composition comprising said nitrogenous polycondensate and a crystalline olefin-polymer. The examples describe the preparation of polycondensates from piperazine, epichlorohydrin and:-(1) dodecenyl chloride; (2) n-octadecyl chloride; (3) di-chloromethyl-m-xylene; (4) p-xylylene dichloride and (5) 1: 10-dichlorodecane. The products of the examples being mixed with polypropylene and melt spun into fibres.
