Abstract

1,006,208. Temperature alarms. SPECIALTIES DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. Nov. 6, 1963 [Nov. 20, 1962], No. 43776/63. Heading G4N. [Also in Division H1] Apparatus for detecting an increase in temperature above a normal ambient comprises an element (see Division H1) capable of storing a charge only when heated above the ambient; means for applying a direct voltage across the electrodes of the element; and means for indicating when a charge is stored in the element. As described, Fig. 1, an oscillator 15 pulses relay 24 to connect the element 10, which is in the form of a coaxial cable, alternately to the D.C. supply 11 and the relay 27. When the ambient temperature is exceeded the element is alternately charged and discharged holding relay 27 energized and completing the circuit to indicator 31. In an alternative form, Fig. 4 (not shown). The relay 24 is omitted and the element 10 is connected via a diode to an A.C. supply, the detector relay being permanently connected to the element. Specification 953,166 is referred to.
