Abstract
A dry bleaching composition in stable, finely divided form and with a high chlorine content, soluble in water, comprises trichlorocyanuric acid and a trialkali metal salt of cyanuric acid and/or an equivalent mixture of cyanuric acid and either an alkali metal hydroxide or alkali metal salt of a mineral acid excluding strong acids and acids having reducing properties, the proportions of the components being such that the final product contains for two moles of trichlorocyanuric acid, one mole of cyanuric acid and three gram equivalents of alkali metal hydroxide or of the alkali metal salt, free or combined with the cyanuric acid. The alkali metal salt of the mineral acid may be sodium or potassium carbonate, bicarbonate, phosphate, silicate, cyanate, thiocyanate, hypochlorite or borate or mixtures thereof. The composition may be prepared by crushing and/or mixing homogeneously together the constituents in the solid phase until the composition has predetermined grain size. The active chlorine in the composition may be utilised by adding the composition to water either alone or mixed with solid adjuvants which may or may not be soluble in water.ALSO:A dry disinfecting and sterilising composition in stable, finely divided form and with a high chlorine content, soluble in water, comprises trichlorocyanuric acid and a trialkali metal salt of cyanuric acid and/or an equivalent mixture of cyanuric acid and either an alkali metal hydroxide or alkali metal salt of a mineral acid excluding strong acids and acids having reducing properties, the proportions of the components being such that the final product contains for two moles of trichloro cyanuric acid, one mole of cyanuric acid and three gram equivalents of alkali metal hydroxide or of the alkali metal salt, free or combined with the cyanuric acid.
