Abstract

1,006,054. Electric selective signalling systems; display units. SPERRY RAND CORPORATION. June 5, 1963 [June 18, 1962], No. 22328/63. Headings G4H and G5C. In an indicating system for displaying a twostate indication for each of 32 x 9 = 288 different devices or points to be monitored each neon lamp of an array of 32 neons (circles), Fig. 7, is associated with 9 devices and the particular device that it is actually connected with at any instant is indicated by an indicium visible through an adjacent window. Thus if, for example, the neon 100 is connected with a reading device then the word " read " may be used to indicate this. Selection of the devices with which the 32 neons are connected is effected by a nine-position control knob 91 which, in addition to effecting the necessary electrical connections (via diode gating circuits, Figs. 1 and 3, not shown) also causes the appropriate indicia to be displayed, either by means of four cylinders 114-117, Fig. 6, or by means of a slidable translucent plate 106, Fig. 5.
