Abstract
1,005,489. Cooling reactors. GROUPEMENT ATOMIQUE ALSACIENNE ATLANTIQUE April 28, 1964 [April 30, 1963], No. 17576/64. Heading G6C. In a liquid metalcooled reactor, a primary coolant flow is urged through the reactor and over the external surface of a heat-exchanger and a separate secondary flow passes through the interior of the exchanger. As shown, the primary flow is maintained, by the electromagnetic pump 3, from the intake 2 through the outer tank section 1, into the inner tank section formed by the portion 12 and out through 5 to the reactor. The inner tank section encloses aheat-exchanger 4 through which liquid metal coolant is circulated by pump 8 mounted on partition 12.
