Abstract

1,005,150. Regulating; indicating working conditions. DAIMLER-BENZ A.G. Dec.17, 1963 [Dec. 19, 1962], No. 49834/63. Heading F1B. Increased suction in the intake pipe, produced by clogging of the air filter, causes a suction responsive device 8 to adjust the full load stop 6 of the fuel feed regulator 2 to reduce the full load fuel supply. The full load stop 6 is formed on a spring-loaded lever 5 pivoted at 4 and formed with stepped teeth 10. . .10<SP>11</SP> cooperating with a rod 7 attached to a diaphragm responsive to the suction in the intake pipe downstream of the air filter. The fuel control spindle 1, e.g. of a fuel injection, pump, has a control arm 2 carrying a pin 3 which abuts the stop 6 at full load. Under normal conditions the rod 7 is in its lowest position co-operating with stop 10. Upon partial clogging of the air filter the increased intake pipe suction raises rod 7 until it co-operates with step 10<SP>1</SP>, the rotation of the lever 5 by spring 9 lowering the stop 6 to reduce the full load fuel supply. Upon further clogging of the filter the rod 7 is raised to co-operate with step 10<SP>11</SP> producing a further reduction in the full load fuel supply. In this position an alarm such as a warning light or acoustic signal may be operated to indicate the clogged filter condition.
