Abstract

1,004,501. Transformers. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. Aug. 2, 1962, No. 29727/62. Heading H1T. [Also in Divisions H2 and H3] To obtain a voltage between two adjacent taps 4, 5, on an autotransformer winding 1 a transductor TA, TB is connected to each tap and controlled oppositely so that when one transductor is unsaturated, the other is saturated which control is effected by means of bias and control windings. The auto excited transductors shown may be replaced by non-auto excited types in which case only one transductor would carry a bias winding. The contacts on the taps are arranged to connect to alternate taps when carrying no current.
