A coil for use in induction heating apparatus consists of two or more radially superposed turns of a tube through which coolant may flow, at least the outermost turn having a greater wall thickness on the side facing the coil axis than on the opposite side. The greater wall thickness may be arranged to be comparable with the penetration depth of the energizing frequency employed.
