Abstract

1,003,583. Transistor amplifying circuits for radio reception. STANDARD TELEPHONE & CABLES Ltd. July 6, 1962 [July 6, 1961], No. 26060/62. Heading H3T. The input circuit for a radio receiver comprises a band-pass filter through which received signals are applied to the input electrode of an amplifying transistor 9 the output of which is coupled to a mixer circuit 12 comprising a ring modulator, overload protection being effected by a first diode 5 connected in parallel with the band-pass filter and a second diode 10 connected between emitter and base of the amplifying transistor. Diode 5 is returned to a tapping point, by-passed by capacitor 6, on a potentiometer chain 7, 8. The circuit is designed for use where a local transmitter interferes with reception from more distant stations.
