Abstract
1,003,320. Nozzles. SAMUEL JONES & CO. (ENGINEERING) Ltd. Sept. 14, 1962 [Oct. 25, 1961], No. 38212/61. Heading B2F. A nozzle, for the discharge of fire extinguishing powder from a container, includes a closeended cylindrical boss 3 having one or more holes 6 through the wall of the boss and a resilient cup washer 5 fitted over the boss to obturate the hole or holes but capable of distortion under pressure from within the boss to permit free passage of powder to the nozzle outlet. A further outlet nozzle 7 contains an apertured baffle plate 9 which forms the boundary of a plenum space 8 in which the powder forms into a homogeneous mass before being expelled.
