[Also in Division H2] An electric lamp especially for mounting on a vehicle comprises a casing with an internal mounting for a metal socket to receive an electric light bulb, in the form of a resilient sleeve at least one end of which extends within the casing around an inner open end of the bore of the sleeve, the socket being inserted lengthwise into and resiliently supported by the sleeve. In the form shown, a vehicle lamp consists of a casing 1 of rubber or like resilient material having a body 2, one side of which is closed by a lens 4, and a neck 6 into the bore of which is inserted a metal sleeve 8 in which is a plug 13 of insulating material carrying contact pins 14 for the lamp 5. A terminal 15 on the sleeve 8 for use as an earth return when a single pole lamp or a double filament lamp is used, fits into a groove 16 in the side of the bore. Further grooves may be provided in the inner surface of the bore to ease the insertion of the bulb and to increase the anti-vibration effect of the mounting. A lateral hole 18 at the upper end of the neck is provided for the passage of the leads to the socket.
