A composite display is formed by mosaic blocks 1 (Fig. 1), supported on a frame consisting of elements 2 (Fig. 5) whose arms 3 are connected at their ends. Fig. 4 shows a two-sided, selfsupporting panel frame built up of two sets of elements 2 connected by supporting pins 5, screws 11 attaching the differentially cranked ends 4 of the arms of four adjacent elements thereto. Alternatively a single set of elements is mounted on pins 5 attached to a support surface (Fig. 3, not shown), which may be curved or sloping. Figs. 2, 7 (not shown) illustrate three-armed elements, which receive hexagonal mosaic blocks. Blocks 1 are attached to the frame by magnets 12 having projecting poles 9, or by catch-heads engaging slots in blocks 1. Blocks 1 are of two-ply construction (Figs. 8, 9, not shown), one ply being recessed at corners to locate the block on screws 11 and poles 9. Pins 5 may be replaced by flanges on elements 2, and elements may be connected by overlying caps. Blocks 1 may be extended at panel edges (Fig. 1). The panel may display a circuit or flow diagram; blocks may be selectively illuminated, and instruments inserted in place of blocks.
