Abstract
1,000,973. Girdles. TRIUMPH INTERNATIONAL A.G. Feb. 14, 1962 [Feb. 15, 1961; March 7, 1961], No. 5604/62. Heading A3V. A girdle made of elastic fabric has a front made from panels 2, 3 seamed together at 6 and panels 4, 5 joined by seams 7, 8, to a V-shaped insert 9. The insert may be stretchable horizontally and/or vertically and the panels 2-5 are more extensible in a direction parallel with their upper and lower edges than transversely. The panels are overlaid at the seams 7 and 8 by decorative tapes 10 and 11 sewn to the panels by seams 12, 13 and 14, 15 respectively. In another embodiment (not shown) panels 2 and 3 overlap extending as far as the seams 14, 15 and 12, 13 respectively and the panels 4 and 5 are joined by a central seam. In other embodiments both pairs of panels may overlap in the central V-shaped area or both pairs may stop short at the nearest seam, the central area comprising two or more inserts, one extensible chiefly horizontally and other vertically.
