Abstract
The invention comprises halogen-containing N - alkyl - 4: 5 - diamino - 1: 8 : dihydroxy-anthraquinones and halogen-containing N - alkyl - 4: 8 - diamino - 1: 5 - dihydroxy-anthraquinones in which the halogen is chlorine and/or bromine and is directly attached to the anthraquinone nucleus. The dyes are made by alkylating the corresponding unalkylated compounds or mixtures thereof. One, two, three or all of the aminohydrogen atoms in the two amino groups may be replaced by alkyl. Examples are given. The dyes dye polyester textile materials from aqueous dispersion in blue and violet shades. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 933,503 and 936,060.
