1,000,476. Cleaning and polishing floors. G. V. BRAKEL. July 12, 1962 [July 13, 1961; March 21, 1962], No. 26895/62. Drawings to Specification. Heading A4F. In cleaning floors moist sawdust mixed with a detergent is placed under a rotating brush or disc device of a floor treating machine and is rubbed over the floor so that dirt is absorbed by the sawdust which is then collected. Similarly the floor can be polished by using sawdust mixed with fluid wax. Two annular brushes for attachment to the machine are described. One comprises one or more peripheral rows of bristles surrounding a plurality of stiff pins to prevent clogging of the sawdust, whilst in the other the pins are replaced by a stirrer, rotatable relative to the brush.
