Abstract

1,099,525. Developing apparatus. KALLE A.G. Feb. 12, 1965 [Feb. 15, 1964], No.6232/65. Heading G2A. Apparatus for the heat development of exposed photo-copying material comprises a closed gasfilled chamber 1, the gas being heated by thermostatically controlled elements 9 and circulated in a closed circuit by a fan 10. The chamber 1 is disposed between two portions 5, 6 of a housing, the portion 6 being bounded by a wall 4 having orifices 11 therein through which the gas enters the chamber and suction ports 12 through which the gas leaves the chamber. The material is fed into the chamber 1 by rollers 2, and passes out between rollers 3. In another embodiment Figs. 3, 4 (not shown) the developing chamber is formed between two eccentrically arranged shells. In a further embodiment Figs.5, 6 (not shown) the chamber is formed between a shell and a rotatable perforated cylinder through which the gas is sucked by the fan. Air, nitrogen or carbon dioxide may be used. Up to 25% by volume of ammonia may be mixed with the air to facilitate development.
