Abstract

1,099,030. Transistor switching circuits. PYROTECTOR Inc. Nov. 22, 1965, No. 49524/65. Heading H3T. [Also in Divisions G1 and G4] A fire detector is powered by photo-generative cells 14 which respond to ambient light radiation. Transistor T1 has its base connected to photo resistors 10, 12 responsive to red and blue light respectively so that light from a fire will forward bias T1, T2. The fall in collector potential of T2 feeds a pulse via capacitor C3 to switch on T3 and fire controlled rectifier CR1. Capacitor C4 provides positive feedback for trigger circuit T2, T3. Firing rectifier CR1 allows capacitor C2 to discharge through alarm unit 16 which may be a visible or audible device or an electricallyfired squib. The unit may also actuate an extinguisher.
