Abstract

In order to increase the resistance to abrasion of the working surface of a centrifugal separator, the working surfaces have trowelled over them a coating of epoxy resin admixed with a wear-resistant aggregate. The admixture may be coated 3/16 to 1/4 inch thick on steel or other ferrous separator components, or 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick on separator components moulded from a rigid synthetic plastics material, e.g. acrylonitrile butadienestyrene. Worn, previously coated, surfaces may be built up by the admixture.
