Abstract

1,098,266. Ground anchors. W. E. WAITE. Sept. 12, 1966 [Sept. 28, 1965], No. 41273/65. Heading E1B. A ground anchor for the end of a cable comprises a threaded rod 5 screwed into a tube 1 carrying a helical blade 3, the rod 5 having at one end a conical head 7 and at the other end a rotatable swivel eye for the cable. The .thread on the rod 5 is protected by a sleeve 4. The anchor blade 3 is screwed into the ground by power - rotation of the tube 1. The cable tension is then adjusted by a spanner engaging a nut 10 on the rod 5.
