Abstract

1,097,467. Transfers. LETRASET Ltd. June 22, 1966 [May 13, 1965], No. 20277/65. Heading B6C. A dry transfer comprises a carrier sheet comprising a base sheet having on one outer face thereof a layer of plastics material and on the other outer face a layer having high release properties, a design indicium carried on the outer face of plastics material and a pressure sensitive adhesive carried on said indicium and optionally overlapping on to the plastics surface of the carrier sheet. The base sheet may be paper whilst the plastics layer may be of polyethylene. Alternatively polystyrene or polystyrene-butadiene could be used. The transfer may be in tape form and the release material a layer of polysiloxane. The plastics material may be applied to both sides of the base sheet, the release material being applied to one of the plastics layers. The indicium may comprise indicia in ink carried on areas of selfsupporting film which are releasably attached to the plastics surface side of the carrier sheet. Six specific examples of transfer are described.
