A composite metal sheet comprises troughs 24 which are wider at the bases than between the crests which have transverse ridges or grooves 25. The bases have projections 31. A corrugated sheet may be secured to a flat sheet 17 or another inverted corrugated sheet Fig. 15 (not shown) or a number of separate parallel channels are mounted on a flat sheet Fig. 17 (not shown). The ridges or grooves are pressed in the sheet and may be obliquely arranged. Sheets are joined edge to edge by tongues 18 and grooves 19.
