Abstract

Metal-organic complexes are obtained by reacting 1 mol of a water-soluble zirconyl salt with from 1.25 to 2.5 mols of lactic or glycolic acid and neutralizing with a base. Bases which may be employed in the neutralization step include ammonia, morpholine and sodium hydroxide. In the examples, complexes are obtained from zirconium acetate and lactic acid.
