Abstract

1,093,323. Ground anchors. CEMENTATION CO. Ltd. May 27, 1965 [June 4, 1964], No. 23250/64. Heading E1B. A cable 13 is grouted within a homogeneous or stratified rock 15 through the intermediary of members such as 17 which are secured to the individual strands by wedges or other means, the members 17 being distributed along the length of the hole, or located in spaced groups. The bearing surface of each member 17 may be at right angles to the cable (as shown) or inclined thereto. In a modification some of the members 17 abut a plate or ring through which the cable strands are threaded; alternatively the individual members 17 may be omitted and the strands clamped directly to spaced rings.
